Obituary for Jerry Eugene Ulrich

Funeral services for Jerry Eugene Ulrich, 66, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at The Heights Church with Eugene Ulrich and Sam Mast officiating.
Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Services are open to all who wish to attend.
Serving as pallbearers will be his sons, Eugene, Roland, Leland, David, Jonathan and Peter Ulrich.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2016 at The Heights Church.
Mr. Ulrich passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 in Cleburne. He was born in Morrison, Illinois on July 27, 1949, the son of Emmagene (Kempf) and Everett David Ulrich.
He was joined in marriage to Velma Miller on November 13, 1969.
Immediately after marriage, they served as missionaries in Costa Rica for 21 years. In 1990,
he founded a shed company now known as Ulrich Barn Builders.
In 2006, Mr. Ulrich founded Cleburne Christian Fellowship where he served as senior pastor until his death.
He was greatly loved and widely known as a compassionate joyous man after God’s own heart.
Mr. Ulrich was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Velma Ulrich of Cleburne; 11 children, Eugene Ulrich and wife, Amanda (Yoder), of Keene, Texas, Judith and husband, Joseph Sommers, of Maryville, Missouri, Roland Ulrich and wife, Rachel (Showalter), of Squaw Valley, California, Leland Ulrich and wife, Rachel (Martin), of Grandview, Texas, Janine and husband, Joseph Showalter, of Grandview, Texas, Julia and husband, Seth Showalter, of Boituva, Brazil, David Ulrich and Regina Martin of Cleburne, Joanne and husband, Justin Weaver, of Cleburne, Joyce and husband, Ryan Kimberlin, of Cleburne, Jonathan Ulrich and wife, Raquel (Perez), of Cleburne, and Peter Ulrich and wife, Xinia (Friesen) of Cleburne; 70 grandchildren; one step great grandchild; three brothers and three sisters.
