Mildred Loraine  Townsend
Services for Mildred Loraine Townsend, 90, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2017 at First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. The Rev. Gorge Sutton, The Rev. Robert Herzig and The Rev. Kim Long will officiate. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Maggard, Roy Williams, Dr. Robert Kelly, Guy James, Richard Calder, and Vance Castles.
Mildred went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 16, 2017 in Fort Worth, Texas surrounded by her family. She was born Dec. 6, 1927 in Marietta, Oklahoma, to Essie Faye (Kirksey) and Jesse Hamilton Holloway. She married the love of her life, Bill Townsend, on Dec. 8, 1945.
Mildred retired from the Social Security Administration office where she was a service representative. After retiring she went to work for First United Methodist Church as an administrative assistant and had just recently retired from there. Mildred was an active member of First United Methodist Church and will be dearly missed.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Townsend; sister, Kay Childress; brother, and Richard Holloway.
She is survived by her sons, Barry Townsend and wife, Susan, and Michael Townsend and wife, Nora, all of Cleburne; daughter, Melissa Townsend and partner, Laura Baker, of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Billy Townsend and wife, Bri, Paul Roberts and wife, Jennifer, Chris Roberts and wife, Natalie; great-grandchildren, Brody Townsend, Brandon Roberts, Lindsey Roberts, Austin Roberts, Kayley Roberts, Landry Roberts, Lauren Shaw, Jacob Dickson, Jonathan Dickson, Andrew Dickson, and Reid Dickson; great-great-grandchildren, Averi Roberts, Tanner and Caleb Shaw; sister, Lou Ladd and husband, John, of Granbury; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
The family request that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund at 1300 W. Westhill Drive, Cleburne, Texas 76033.
