Funeral services for Winnelle M. Rigby, 106, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2017 at St. Mark United Methodist Church. The Rev. Andy Tyler will officiate. Burial in Rosehill Cemetery will be held prior to the service.
The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Miss Rigby passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 in Cleburne. She was born in Grandview, Texas on March 22, 1911, to Eula Jane (Cain) and William Bradley Rigby.
Miss Rigby was a teacher, retiring in 1975 after 45 years of service to her students. During this time she taught at the Rock Tank School near Grandview and the Burleson, Cleburne and Fort Worth ISDs.
She was a charter member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.
Miss Rigby is survived by nieces, Sabina Lawson and husband, Danny, of Angel Fire, New Mexico and Shelly Samuels and husband, Sam, of Cleburne; nephews, Tom Bennett and wife, Carrie, of Ashland, Ohio and Don Bennett and wife, Jan, of Austin, Texas; and other family members and friends.
The family would like to thank Karen Shaw and Misty Matthews and their staff members, Debbie Burrow and Beverly Coward. A special thank you is also given to DaMona Jones and Community Hospice.
