Funeral services for the Rev. Joe Russell, 69, of Venus, Texas will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Alvarado, Texas. The Rev. Bob Baze will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Point Cemetery in Lillian, Texas.
A visitation will be held from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Russell, Danny Loudermilk, Chris Morris, Harold Davis, Charles Davis and Ricky Jewell.
Rev. Russell passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born in Cleburne on September 1, 1947, the son of Ima (Baze) and William Walter Russell.
He married Judy Mae Davis on July 12, 1974 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Rev. Russell was pastor of Calvary Temple Community Church in Lillian.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.
Rev. Russell is survived by his wife, Judy Russell of Venus; son, Michael Russell and wife, Melanie, of Houston, Texas; daughters, Renae Hart and husband, Forrest, of Venus and Christy Gilliland and husband, Bruce of Alvarado; mother-in-law, Ardilia Davis of Keene, Texas and siblings, Pearl Everett, Joyce Edgett, Don Russell, Earl Russell, Pat Pierce and James Russell; and many other family members and friends.
