Funeral services for Manuel Chavez, 76, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Sergio Rizo officiating.
Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Rosser Funeral Home with the Rosary beginning at 7 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Paul, Richard, Gilbert, Peter, Joseph, Tomas, Philip, and Daniel Chavez, Wil and Jonathon Spurgeon.
Manuel passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in Cleburne. He was born in Hillsboro, Texas on May 6, 1941, the son of Mary (Bason) and Pedro Chavez.
Manuel was retired from Johns-Manville Corp. and enjoyed all sports, although baseball was his favorite. He never had children but his pride and joy were his nieces and nephews.
Manuel was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Simon Chavez; and sister, Lupe Herrerra.
He is survived by his brothers, John Chavez and wife, Teresa, of Arlington, Texas, Mike Chavez and wife, Gloria and Roy Chavez and wife, Marivel, all of Cleburne; sisters, Maria Chavez and Margaret Chavez, both of Cleburne; and numerous nephews and nieces.
