Genevieve Joyce Hurd, 92, of Cleburne, Texas, a retired keypunch operator for Ryan Mortgage Company in Fort Worth, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2018 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Daniel So officiating. Burial will follow in Price’s Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Hurd will lie in state from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Rosser Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. prior to the service Monday morning.
Joyce was born September 16, 1925 in Decatur, Texas to Dora Jane (McConnell) and Charles Etter Young. She was a 1941 graduate of Boyd High School. She was a member of Watts Chapel United Methodist Church in Grandview.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Burleigh Reuben Hurd.
She is survived by two daughters, Ann King and husband, Terry of Cleburne and Billie Cooper and husband, Gary, of McKinney, Texas; granddaughters, Karen Nolte and husband,, Jeff, of Garner, North Carolina and Kim Ford, also of McKinney; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jordan and Kaitlyn Nolte and McKenzie, Cade and Jake Ford.
The family would like to thank her long-term caregivers, Becky Chilton, Peggy Gatlin and Tanya Baasch.
