On Thursday, April 12, 2018, Joanne Burkett, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, went home to be with our Lord suddenly at the age of 70 years. Joanne will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend Warren, and their loving children, Les (Cherie), Kris (Linda), April (Josh) Richards, their precious grandchildren, Adriana, Kaylie, Gabrielle, Camdyne, Rosemarie, Holland, Chase, Corbin, Jaycie, Aidan, and Elora, their newborn great-granddaughter, Everly, and by her sister, Ruth. Joanne will also be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends.
Joanne had a true love for teaching. She taught for over 35 years in elementary education as well as Sunday school classes and enjoyed immensely guiding children. She was also a talented artist and enjoyed painting her whole life. This can be seen in her many oil paintings and wood art she loved showing and giving to others. Joanne had a genuine loving heart and a true spirit of giving. Her steadfast love of God was displayed by her willingness to help others. Her spirit will live on in the hearts and lives of the many people she touched with her infectious smile and love for children.
A funeral will be held on Monday, April 16 at 10:00 am, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Cleburne, Texas.
