Obituary for Jeanette Place (Kinman)

Funeral services for Carrie “Jeanette” (Kinman) Place, 88, of Godley, Texas will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Church At The Crossing, 128 Elm Street, Aledo, TX 76008 (817-441-8885). Visitation will be held at the church at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134.
Jeanette went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, April 22, 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas.
She was born in Brownwood, Texas on January 8, 1930 to Lloyd and Mamie Kinman. The family moved to Big Spring in West Texas when she was very young. She graduated from Big Spring High School and worked in banking until she married Joel Royce Place from DuBois, Pennsylvania on January 24, 1953.
Jeanette was an Air Force wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. She loved the Lord Jesus, family and friends, music, laughter and playing games. Her grandchildren Michaela and James were the light of her life.
Her favorite scripture was Isaiah 40:31 – “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.”
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joel; and sisters, Betty Dixon, Laverne Kimzey and Loyce Looney.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Place; son, Joel Place and wife, Laura; granddaughter, Michaela Place; grandson, James Place; brother, James Kinman and wife, Katie; sister, Meldean Kraus; nieces, nephews and other extended family in Texas, Louisiana and Pennsylvania.
