Obituary for Velma Weaver (Crick)

Funeral services for Velma Weaver, 88, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2018 at Shepherd’s Valley Cowboy Church, 8901 US Hwy 67, Alvarado, TX 76009. Her sons, Pastor Russ Weaver of Shepherd’s Valley Cowboy Church and Pastor Randy Weaver of Lone Star Cowboy Church will officiate.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Velma passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in Dalhart, Texas on January 29, 1930, the daughter of Mabel (Joslin) and George Crick.
Velma married Jasper Weaver on September 9, 1950 in Cortez, Colorado. A faithful and true servant, she was a homemaker, a pastors’ wife, and served as women’s and children’s minister in every church she and Jasper pastored. She was also the director of the First Assembly Daycare in Layton, Utah for 10 years.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jasper Weaver; grandson, Shea Weaver; and several siblings.
She is survived by her sons, Russ Weaver and wife, Anna, of Cleburne; Randy Weaver and wife, Darla, of Montgomery, Texas; brothers, Buford Crick and Jerry Green and wife, Louetta; grandchildren, Levi Weaver (Heather), Jordan Weaver (Lacey), Shiloh Doehring (Vernie), and Caleb Weaver (Cilla); great grandchildren, Jhet, Lincoln, Kodi, Holland and Tess; and many other family members and friends.
