Glenda Faith Burk, age 75, passed away on
September 24, 2018 in Covington, Texas surrounded by
the love of her family.
Glenda was born January 18, 1943 to Ella Mae and
Melton W. Brantley. She was the third of four children.
She lived in Blum, Texas where she attended school 1st
through 12th grade. She graduated high school in 1961.
After high school, Glenda attended Mary Hardin Baylor
University where she graduated in 1965 with a Bachelor of
Science Degree. She began her teaching career in
Robbstown, Texas that same year.
Glenda married Bailey Stephen Burk April 2 , 1982 in
Covington Texas. They resided there with their 3 children
where Glenda spent the majority of her teaching career
teaching elementary school for Covington ISD.
Hundreds of family, friends, and former students
gathered in Covington, Texas September 15, 2018 to
celebrate Glenda’s life.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Bailey Burk, her
two daughters and their spouses, Brandi and Lee Owens,
Kristen and Duane Wines, her son Jimmy Gillam, her
sister and spouse Peggy Delores Ingram and Richard
Ingram, and her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ella Mae and
Melton W. Brantley, sister, Sonya Ann Brantley, and
brother, Gary Douglas Brantley.
