Obituary for Donny Ray Wester
Graveside services for Donny Ray Wester, 70, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2020 at Johnson Station Cemetery in Arlington, Texas. The Rev. Scott Whitson will officiate.
A visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Donny Ray Wester passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020 at his home with his grandchildren and family surrounding him. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on March 26, 1949, the oldest of four children born to Louise (House) and Ray Wester.
Donny was a self-made man with only a tenth grade education but he created a successful roofing business which provided well for his family and community. He worked hard all his life.
Donny married Kathy Trimm in 1967 in Arlington, when he was 17 and Kathy was 15. They were married 49 years until Kathy’s death August 24, 2016.
The family resided in Arlington most of his life but also had residences in Fort Worth and finally in Cleburne.
He is survived by his faithful companion, Freda McDarby, children, Kandi Wester, Don Wester, Thomas Wester and Daniel Wester; sister, Elizabeth Wilcher; brothers, Jimmy Wester and Bobby Wester; grandchildren, Wesley Wester, Katlynn Wester, Amanda Arellano, and Chandler Wester; great granddaughter, Olivia Salazar and another great granddaughter to be born soon.
