Obituary for Melinda Diann Davis (Jones)
Melinda Diann (Jones) Davis, 69, lifelong resident of Cleburne, Texas, went home to meet her Lord on Monday, January 7, 2019. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 at Cleburne Bible Church. Burial will follow in Caddo Cemetery near Joshua, Texas.
A visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Melinda was born in Cleburne on November 26, 1949, the daughter of Ora Lee (Hill) and L. C. Jones.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and follower of Jesus; witty, funny, kind, compassionate and a friend to many.
Melinda attended Cleburne High School and while in college, she met and married Dave Davis, the love of her life. They were shortly thereafter blessed with their only child, Joshua. Melinda and Dave were married for 39 years. She loved her family and enjoyed going to church, reading, sewing, needlepoint and other crafts.
Melinda is preceded in death by her loving parents, L.C. and Ora Lee Jones; and niece, LeAnne Novacek.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Dave Davis; son, Joshua Davis and wife, Robin; future granddaughter, Evelyn Grace; sisters, Sonia Barnett and husband, Richard and Sue Atkinson and husband, Lloyd; brother, Phillip Jones and wife, Diane; brother-in-law, Eddie Davis and wife, Janis; as well as many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
