I never met Audrie yet because I live 1,800 miles away. In the short time she was in Joshua, she and my grandson became best friends. They seemed to become a great support for each other only how real friends can. Audrie, Cole and my daughter Dawna spent a great time shopping and going to dinner on her very last day. I am so sorry about you lose. She was so wonderful, and she will never be forgot. Heaven gained another angel the day they took her out of this world. You know why God only takes the best is because he is jealous that he doesn"t have her. This never deserved to happen to her she had so much going for her, and she was gonna change the world. She was my best friend and I remember every single thing that we did together and I miss it so much. Audrie was such a good friend. She always wore a smile, and always dressed so pretty, no matter what her mood was. She was so sweet, and so beautiful. She was always checking on me, and we talked every morning. She always seemed to be there when I needed someone to talk to. The last time I saw her, on Career Day, I gave her a big hug, and told her how pretty she looked. That makes me happy, knowing I got to hug her that last day. I'll miss her so much. Rest in peace, beautiful girl. May Heaven enjoy your company as much as I did.

Last year, every morning before first bell Audrie and I would sit in the foyer and talk. We talked about everything. She could always make me smile. When she laughed, she was just so cute you had to laugh with her! Her smile and her personality could light up the room. you could tell her anything, and she gave good advice. She was there if I just needed someone to listen to me. I miss seeing her in study skills. We miss and love you so much Audrie. You would have loved all the bright colors and candles at the vigil. They were beautiful just like you.

Audrie was in my summer school English/reading class between her eighth and ninth grades. Of course, being summer school, we were a small, inter-active class. What a sweetheart Audrie was. Whenever we worked together through guided practice or she was working independently, she was fully engaged, doing her very best to understand each new concept. She came to school every day with a spirit of genuine cheerfulness and sweetness that melted my heart. She caught me a little by surprise; it's not often that a teacher meets a student who seems happy to be in summer school and expresses gratitude for the skills she's learning there. She often talked about her little sisters. She loved them and was so proud of them. I will miss this "little" girl. My life is richer because of the short time I spent with Audrie; she taught me what sweet gratitude looks like. I know the world is a better place because Audrie Strickland inhabited it awhile. I look forward to seeing her in heaven. I want to thank her for the lessons she taught me here.
