Funeral services celebrating the life of Rosa “Irene” Kirkland, 94, of Cleburne, Texas will be held at 2:00 pm. Thursday, February 16, 2017 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Glover officiating. All are encouraged to wear red as it was her favorite color.
Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Irene Kirkland entered Heaven’s gates on February 12, 2017 after a brief stay at Hospice House in Burleson, Texas. Irene was born and raised in Alvarado, Texas and settled in Cleburne.
Family, friends and especially her grandchildren were Irene’s passion and delight. We will always carry her memory in our hearts.
Irene was preceded in death by husband, Robert Lee Self; later marrying Willie Earl “Bill” Kirkland who also precedes her along with her daughter, Betty Jane Moore and two sons, Willie Paul Kirkland and Donny Earl Kirkland.
She is survived by her children, Bobby Self and wife, Glenda, Keva Calvert and husband, Jim, Nancy Anderson and husband ,Les, Tamara Ory and husband, Richard, Barry Kirkland and wife, Robin; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
