Condolences

Condolence From: Patricia Stella
Condolence: Our deepest sympathy goes to Mr. Davis' family. Mike was the band director for our 2 daughters at Parkhill J.H. in Richardson ISD many years ago. Between our 2 daughters, Mr. Davis was in our lives for 6 years. He was a marvelous influence on our girls at a formative time in their lives. He was not only a great director but a warm and wonderful teacher and the consummate professional. He was respected and loved by students and their families as well. We felt lucky to have had him in our lives. We will never forget him or the many good times had with him in class and at his concerts. We send our deepest condolences, Patty and Michel Stella

Condolence From: The Hoffman family - Dallas
Condolence: We have fond memories of Mike's leadership as Parkhill Junior High band director. He positively impacted the lives of our sons, inspiring them to live music and performance. We will never forget the confidence he had one year, teaching them Carmina and how proud the kids were at those performances. Quite remarkable. And wheneve we hear Carmina, we think of this beautiful soul who taught and inspired so many. Our loving thoughts are with his family. He was a true gem.

Condolence: I would like to express my condolences to the Davis family, and to all those who knew and loved Michael.

Michael was, without a doubt, one of the brightest, and most gifted graduate students that I have ever had the privilege of teaching. In truth, I learned far more from Michael than he ever learned from time spent with me. His research paper on symbolism in the music of Arnold Schoenberg, is one of the most comprehensive, and impressive, pieces of scholarship on the subject that I've encountered, period. Some people are smart--Michael Davis was brilliant.

But more than any of that, Michael was a very special man. He was loved, and he will be missed.
