I want to share a note about the passing of a terrific woman in my life. My Aunt Billie Barton, formerly Billie Barnes, and Billie Warren, passed away Friday night, November 10th, from heart failure. Billie was 87, and the younger sister of my mother, Lena. Billie was a renaissance woman. She was a cowgirl,a farmer, rancher, painter, sketch artist, woodworker, singer, songwriter, an incredibly talented guitarist, a health-care worker, a wife to two lucky men and a mother to Richard Warren, who passed away in 2011. She had many surrogate children who affectionately called her "Mom" her entire life. She endured much as a child of the depression, but all through her life, through whatever tragedy befell her, she always had a positive outlook and a fierce compassion for people that made her much loved. Aunt Billie, thanks for all you did for me and everyone else who knew you. Rest in Peace.
