A memorial service for Vernon Alvin Beene, 95, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at St. Mark United Methodist Church of Cleburne. The Rev. Andy Tyler will officiate.
Vernon died December 10, 2017 in Cleburne. He was born on October 25, 1922 to Guy Athley and Virgie Mae (Patterson) Beene.
He was married to his wife of 75 years, Zelma Lee (Booth) on October 23, 1940. Vernon served in the United States Army Air Corp from November 1942 to January 1946. Prior to and after returning from service, Vernon was employed at Madsen Chair Company. He then served as an executive with Rangaire Corporation for over 30 years. Vernon was an active member at St. Mark United Methodist Church since 1962.
Vernon is preceded in death by his wife, Zelma Lee (Booth) Beene and his parents.
Vernon is survived by his daughter, Brenda Patrick and husband, John; three grandchildren, Bryan Patrick and wife, Jennifer, Tara Patrick, and Carrie Samuels and husband, Aaron; and five great-grandchildren, Cole Patrick, Luke Patrick, Hunter Patrick, Jackson Samuels, and Charlee Samuels; two brothers, Bill Beene, and Donald Beene and wife, Delores.
