Gene and I arrived the same week at Upper Heyford. We are both from Texas so we had plenty to talk about. Through my tour we traveled with Gene and Jennifer on adventures to castles and air shows. Gene and Mike Miller were fun to be with in the Bravo 2 van. They were either giving each other grief or kidding others. He was very devoted to his family (I learned of Cody in our very first conversation). I know he will be missed and it was an honor to serve with him. He was a better man than I. Rest easy.
