Surprise Visit

Two years ago, the day before Halloween, my dad called to ask what we were doing. This may not sound strange to you, but since we live in Florida and he lived in Texas, it caught me by surprise. Were going to a friends house for a kids Halloween party, why? I asked him. Can I stop by? He asked. He was working in South Carolina and drove all the way to Florida just to see us. When Isaac woke up the next morning, Grandpa JT was in our living room ready for whatever Isaac could cook up. An epic game of Connect 4 soon took place. My dad lost his battle with cancer last week. He and Lee Ann had big plans to drive his camper all across the country to spend time with their grandkids and we were all so looking forward to it. We are all heart broken and will miss his teasing, his jokes, and, well everything about him. He was kind, a wonderful dad, never met a stranger, and was always there for anyone that needed him. I am so thankful for the time I had, but just wish there had been more.
